Terms and Conditions

  • If you are an Independent podcaster, author, filmmaker or charity then you can receive concession on entries and event tickets. To receive this discount you will need to complete our webform and we will send you the discount code to apply. 
  • Standard rates apply to any corporate business podcaster/author/filmmaker or independent that earns more than £100,000 per year.
  • For ON SCREEN category entries this can content available on terrestrial, satellite and / or digital broadcasts.
  • Each nominee agrees to provide True Crime Awards with non-exclusive rights to present submissions in their entirety (or through clips we make) to promote the awards, both on the True Crime Awards website and via other media outlets.
  • The Organiser of the True Crime Awards is The Assembly Events.
  • By entering the True Crime Awards, the Entrant will be deemed to have read and understood these rules and to be bound by them. These rules include any instructions set out by the dedicated submission website.
  • Entry is by reference to the award categories.
  • The Organiser reserves the right at its absolute discretion to reject any entry that it deems inappropriate.
  • Submission of all entries and accompanying payment must be completed by the deadline published.
  • Entries will only be accepted if they are completed in full, meet the entire criteria and submitted through the dedicated submission website and accompanied by the entry fee. Please note: All entries are non-refundable.
  • By submitting your entry, you agree to provide all necessary materials to market and showcase your entry, including copies of your programme, podcast, book or audio book as per our request. This is particularly relevant to the publishing categories whereby you agree to provide hard copies of your book for judges to consider should you progress past the initial judging stage. 
  • In each of the paid for Awards categories, there will be a ‘Winner’ and a ‘Highly Commended’. All winners will be chosen by a panel of judges drawn from the media industry as selected by the Organiser.
  • The prize for ‘WINNER’ & ‘HIGHLY COMMENDED’ will be a trophy or certificate. There is no cash alternative.


  • The winners will be announced on 25th April 2024 at the True Crime Awards event in London.
  • All tickets and tables purchased for the event are non-refundable.
  • Winners will also be published on the Organiser’s website and social media platforms.
  • The Organiser reserves the right to change the categories and the judging panel without prior notice to the entrants.
  • The decision of the Judges on all matters affecting this competition is final and legally binding. No correspondence will be entered into.


  • Winners and nominees may be required to take part in some post-event publicity and consent to their name and images being used for such purposes.
  • The Organiser licenses any shortlister and/or winner to use the True Crime Awards logo in connection with its award status & year won.
